Giving Thanks and Praise

2013 has been a very good year for R&R Photography.  We booked the most weddings and formal events since 2008, got to do a few destination weddings plus out of state clients who came to the Monterey Bay for weddings and engagements and customer referrals accounted for more than half of the weddings we booked.  In addition, our secret sauce of under promising and over delivering had paid great dividends from our past and existing clientele.  On behalf of R&R Photography, we would like to thank all our brides and grooms, parents and grandparents and all those included when deciding on a professional photographer.  In reflecting the success and challenges within this past year, I continue to smile at the moments in which I had the opportunity to take some amazing photographs.  The reaction and response has been overwhelming and secures my notion that following a dream is the best pursuit of happiness.  I am truly humbled by all the tears of happiness and joy that I came to see behind my lenses and cameras.

I truly love taking photographs for people and for myself.  I usually tell brides and grooms that many times I want the best wedding photographs more than them.  That definitely sets the tone on how important wedding photography is to me.  I have enjoyed waking up on the morning of a wedding and be excited.  As quirky as that sounds, dedicating my life's work to creating a series of wedding photographs has created more inner peace and solitude that benefits my mental health but moreover giving brides and grooms and their family and friends photographs that they can enjoy for a lifetime.  As I continue to evolve my skill set and style, I often review my portfolio and relive these emotions time and time again.

2014 will be a year of continued success and even bigger accomplishments on the horizon.  Some of my biggest aspirations will include having my wedding photographs be published in a magazine and to win a few wedding photography competitions all with my truest artistic form of wedding photojournalistic photography.  While this will take much perseverance and fortitude, I'm confident my skills and attributes will be in arms reach towards becoming a more revered professional wedding and portraiture photographer.  In addition, I plan on teaming up with other wedding vendors and to also make new friends with other established wedding photographers.  While I haven't had too much luck with other photographers wanting to talk shop, I'm sure there are other like-minded creatives who value learning from one another and sharing their experiences and life lessons.  R&R Photography will continue to serve the Monterey Bay area and stay the most exclusive event and portraiture photographers in 2014.
